In 1982, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation started with a promise between two sisters. This year, the 25th anniversary, they are recommitting to finally, once and for all, finish what they started. Susan G. Komen for the Cure: new name, new logo, same promise - to end breast cancer forever
The Susan G. Komen for the Cure promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. Because 10 million women around the world could die from breast cancer in the next 25 years without the cure, Susan G. Komen for the Cure is fighting every minute of every day to save every life.
I am sharing that promise by participating in the Komen NC Triangle Race for the Cure® with the hopes of raising as much money as possible to support the mission of the Komen NC Triangle Affiliate. Every dollar raised will be invested in breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.

Shimmy for the Cure
In the Triangle area their is a very strong community of bellydancers. All of which are supportive of each other and are such wonderful friends. What a great idea to get a powerful community of women together all to help other woman. Many of us have loved ones or friends who are battling or have battled Cancer and we want to do our best to support this worthy cause
North Carolina Bellydancers will be Shimmying for the Cure!!!
